I love picking out the fabrics. Really enjoy deciding what shapes, patterns, or designs to use. I even don't mind ripping out now and then, but I do not like the cutting. I think it has to do with the fact that I cut everything out on my dining room table, which at 5'10 is about a foot too low.

As you can see I am busy cutting triangles out of Anna Maria Horner's Little Folks. I really loved the look of Ashley's Moonlight in the Trees Quilt, but wanted to do something other than squares. I opted to use Anna Maria's Folk Dance Quilt Pattern, which you can download from her blog for free. I am a little nervous about the points though...

Argh! i don't sew all that much (just trying to get back into it) and cutting is definitely my least favourite part, too. Do you find the rotary cutter helps, though? I just use scissors and the dining room table, but then again I'm making bags and garments. I think if I were quilting, I'd have to invest in a rotary cutter to stop myself going mad!
I really do like the rotary cutter. I would say that it definitely makes the job quicker, which in my book is great. I haven't used them for bag or garment patterns... I supposed that would depend on the intricacy of the pattern and how adept you are at wielding the cutter. I would definitely try one out; you can get them at Joann's for very reasonable prices... especially if you have a coupon.
I love the Little Folks fabric!!! Can't wait to see the finished quilt. Hope you're feeling better. ~Steph
